Heartfelt Experiences at Tempe Christian Preschool
-
We’ve had the privilege of sending all three of our children to Tempe Christian Preschool over the past 10 years, and we could not be more grateful for the experience. Choosing a preschool can feel overwhelming, but for our family, the decision felt easy. I attended Tempe Christian Preschool as a child and have so many wonderful memories from my own time there. My grandmother was also a staff member, making the school an even more meaningful part of our family’s story.
Watching our children grow, learn, and thrive at TCPS has been a true joy. The teachers are exceptional—caring, dedicated, and genuinely invested in each child’s development. They create an environment where children feel supported, encouraged, and excited to learn.
From the moment you walk through the doors, there is a welcoming atmosphere and a sense of community. The staff greet families with kindness, take the time to build meaningful relationships with the children, and thoughtfully plan engaging, creative activities each day.
More than just a preschool, TCPS has felt like a second home for our family. We are incredibly thankful for the love, care, and strong foundation our children received during their years there. I wholeheartedly recommend Tempe Christian Preschool to any family looking for a nurturing, faith-based learning environment.

We have nothing but the highest praises for Tempe Christian Preschool. From beginning to end, there is nothing but good things to say.
We had started our kids at another daycare/preschool in the valley and had troubles with the teachers handling issues with care. After searching for a different option, stumbled upon TCPS and couldn't believe we found a great daycare that also teaches our littles the word of God.
We've sent our 3 youngest kids to TCPS with their ages ranging from 4 months - 5 years during their stay (infants all the way through pre-k) and have had no troubles whatsoever. We've been part of the TCPS family for over 6 years!
All of the staff is so kind, compassionate, engaging and encouraging. They know my kids by name and my 3rd grader still walks in to get hugs from his favorite teachers after all these years when we pick up his younger brother.
The curriculum is enriching and I've seen my kids grow, develop, and learn at a consistent pace. Not only is the learning curriculum great, they also pray at meal times, have weekly chapel where they sing and learn about Jesus, and the school even has Spanish & computer class for older kids and offers in-school dance & soccer classes (for an additional fee).
They are happy & willing to accommodate dietary preferences or restrictions, they are willing to utilize the items you bring in for your baby (specific diapers, etc), and work with the Tempe School District when needed for special education purposes. My littlest got approved for speech classes through the District and TCPS has helped him to get on his shuttle bus every morning and off the bus in the afternoon which allows him to have all-day care but also to get the specialized attention he needs to thrive.
There has never once been a day I have worried about leaving my kids with the absolutely amazing staff at TCPS and I get a little teary eyed knowing we're closing the chapter on our time here as our youngest is about to graduate pre-k. I will happily recommend the school to anyone in the future and we look forward to ongoing visits in the future as our kids grow as you really do start to feel like an extended family. We love TCPS!
All our best,

I’m writing to thank you for you and your team’s unwavering commitment to my son. As a single mother, raising my son from infancy has been both beautiful and incredibly difficult. There have been so many moments where I’ve felt stretched thin – emotionally, financially, and mentally – trying to be everything he needs while also keeping our lives afloat.
When we became part of Tempe Christian Preschool, something shifted for us.
From the very beginning, the staff showed me a level of kindness and understanding that I will never forget. There were times when finances were tight and I didn’t know how I was going to make things work, and instead of judgment, I was met with compassion, flexibility, and genuine care. Those moments mattered more than I can explain – they didn’t just help us logistically, they helped me breathe again.
My son has also had his own challenges. He’s a wonderful, bright child, but like many young kids, he has struggled at times with behavior, emotional regulation, and navigating social situations. As a single parent, those moments can feel isolating and overwhelming. But the staff here never made us feel like a problem to be solved. Instead, they met my son with patience, consistency, and so much heart.
They took the time to truly understand him – what motivates him, what frustrates him, what helps him feel safe. They worked with me as a partner every step of the way. Their communication has always been open, honest, and supportive. I’ve never felt left in the dark, and I’ve never felt alone in helping my son grow.
What has been the most incredible to witness is how much he has blossomed in their care.
He is excited to go to school. He feels loved. He is learning not just academically, but spiritually, socially and emotionally in ways that I know will shape who he becomes. I’ve watched him build confidence, form friendships, and begin to manage his emotions in ways I once worried might take much longer. He enjoys reciting songs and sharing lessons learned in class and chapel!
The teachers and staff are not only skilled at what they do, they are genuinely kind people. They greet us with smiles, celebrate my son’s progress (big and small), and create a space where he feels like he belongs. As a single parent, that sense of community is everything.
Tempe Christian Preschool has been more than just a school for us – it has been a source of support, stability, and encouragement during some of the most challenging years of my life. They have helped my son grow, and they have helped me feel like I’m not doing this alone.
For that, I will always be grateful.
Sincerely,
Hannah

Our family has been part of the Tempe Christian Preschool community for many years, and we cannot say enough wonderful things about the impact this school has had on our children and our family.
We first came to TCP in 2018 when our first child was just four months old. As any parent knows, leaving your baby in someone else's care is one of the hardest milestones to navigate. But from the very beginning, the staff at TCP made us feel welcomed and confident that our child was in loving and capable hands. They are warm, professional, and genuinely care about each child. The teachers are deeply invested in our children's lives. As you walk through campus, it is amazing how many of them happily greet your child by name and make them feel seen and loved. Even years later, we still keep in touch with many of the teachers on a personal basis long after our children have moved on to other classrooms.
When we had our second son, he also started at TCP as an infant, and once again we found the same love, care, and support that his brother had received. Now, years later, both of our children have grown up at TCP. They have spent many of their foundational years there, and it has truly become a second home for them. Throughout the years, we have watched our boys thrive socially, emotionally, and spiritually because of the nurturing environment TCP provides.
One of the things our boys have always loved about TCP is the incredible variety of activities and programming offered throughout the year. From the amazing Christmas and spring programs (which are always highlights for our family) to Easter egg hunts, petting zoos, water days, seasonal celebrations, and countless other special events, there is always something exciting for the children to look forward to on campus. All of this is in addition to an excellent curriculum and engaging classroom activities. It is clear that TCP goes above and beyond to create opportunities that are not only educational, but also joyful and enriching, while continually pointing children back to Jesus.
One experience that especially stands out is the support TCP provided for our oldest son, Jeremiah. Jeremiah has speech and learning challenges, and throughout our time at TCP, we always felt supported and encouraged as we navigated his unique needs. Most recently, TCP has been incredibly gracious in allowing his behavioral therapists to accompany him to summer program each day and work with him on-site. This has enabled him to receive the support he needs while remaining in a familiar and comfortable environment. Their willingness to partner with us and advocate for our son reflects a level of care that goes far beyond what most families would expect from a preschool. Even the therapists themselves often comment on how welcoming, supportive, and warm the Tempe Christian community is and how much they enjoy working alongside the teachers.
When it came time for Jeremiah to transition to kindergarten, we faced the challenge of finding an elementary school that could provide the educational support he needed while still offering the same caring environment he had experienced at TCP. Pastor Debbie played an instrumental role in that journey, helping guide us toward the perfect fit. Her care, wisdom, and genuine investment in our son's success exemplify the heart of TCP.
The greatest testament to how much Jeremiah loves TCP is that even after moving on to elementary school, he still gets excited to come back every summer for the school-age program. In fact, as he finished second grade this year, he was already counting down the days until summer program began. For him, TCP is a place where he feels loved and still has fun!
Tempe Christian Preschool has been an incredible blessing to our family. The relationships we have built, the support we have received, and the foundation our children gained there are gifts for which we will always be grateful. We wholeheartedly recommend TCP to any family seeking a safe, nurturing, faith-centered environment where children can learn, grow, and flourish.
With sincere gratitude,

In March of 2012, at the age of 3 months, our first granddaughter Ava entered a new environment for her and our family. She was met with warm smiles, big hearts, and dedication from Tempe Christian Preschool (TCP) leadership and staff. She was kept safe and loved, as our families worked through our careers.
Ava, now 14, and entering her first year in high school, was followed by her siblings and cousins, Colin (10), Greyson (7), Harley (6), Presley (5), and Gianna (4) in attendance at TCP. In all, over some 14 years of being part of the TCP family, each of our grandchildren have grown in confidence, knowledge, and beliefs, knowing they can be part of wider family, engaged in new adventures, make new friends, and learn about their own skills, due in part to the work and commitment of the TCP team.
Thinking back to 2012 it was through recommendations and conversations, our family found TCP. Now closing out our time here at TCP, we believe we should give the same recommendations we were looking for to others who may be considering enrollment in the TCP program.
Led by Pastor Debbie, the staff is alert, consistence, and enthusiastic toward early childhood learning. The focus of each member of the TCP team provides individual attention to each child, while aiding them in integrating into a group environment, learning along the way how to be part of a larger group.
Over the last 14 years, we have witnessed and observed how activities or daily routines have not gone as planned. Not every day is smooth running and uneventful. We would be remiss in not mentioning that. However, what we saw was a calculated approach in processes, procedures, and actions, that always was primarily focused on the safety of each and every child. Parents were kept informed and reoccurrences of problematic events were rarely if ever occurring.
TCP is a wonderful place for young children to obtain a strong foothold for their future. The leadership and staff see to that. We going to miss the annual plays, they have provided many family stories over the years. If you’re thinking about where you can get the best start in education for your children or grandchildren, in a caring and safe environment, TCP affords that possibility. We hope you take advantage of that opportunity with your family as we did some 14 years ago.

I have had two children attend Tempe Nazarene, and it has been such a positive experience. My first child thrived there, and when my second child enrolled, I was going through a divorce and had difficulty maintaining a consistent schedule. The daycare staff was incredibly understanding and worked with me to accommodate my family's needs during an incredibly challenging time.
One of the things I appreciate most is how welcoming and supportive the school feels. The teachers are caring, dedicated, and many of them stay year after year, which says a lot about the environment they've created. I love that families are invited to attend the children's plays and special events, making everyone feel connected and involved.
The school is also very thoughtful about the children's daily experience. When it's too hot to play outside, they make great use of the indoor gym so the kids can still stay active and have fun. It offers many of the benefits and opportunities of a larger school while still maintaining the warmth and sense of community of a smaller one.
I am grateful for the care, flexibility, and support my children and I have received here, and I would highly recommend Tempe Christian Preschool to other families.
