OUR PURPOSE

Jesus said, “Let all the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” [Matthew 19:14, NIV]

It is our goal that Tempe Christian Preschool will be dedicated to quality care, comprehensive education and Christian values to insure the total growth and development of each child spiritually, socially, emotionally, physically and intellectually.

Spiritually—At TCP your child will begin to understand the love and acceptance of Jesus towards all people as we endeavor to demonstrate God’s love to your child as they interact with other children and teachers. We want the children to recognize that God is the Creator, Jesus is His Son, and that He loves and accepts us as we are.

Socially—Your child will learn the privileges and limits of group life. Your child will begin to develop a caring attitude towards others and develop self-discipline through gradually learning to make wise choices.

Emotionally—Your child will develop a positive self-concept, learning to love and accept others as he or she is loved and accepted. TCP will help your child to learn to express both positive and negative feelings verbally.

Physically—Your child will learn how to demonstrate the knowledge and motor skills they need to remain physically healthy and to accept responsibility for their own physical well-being, where your child can feel proud of their accomplishments.

Intellectually—Your child will be encouraged to build skills in listening and language development and understand concepts related to size, shape, space, color, and distance. Reading and math readiness skills will be practiced. Your child will be allowed to reason, discover, remember, experiment, and generalize their understanding.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

We are partners with parents, working in the process of educating, nurturing and caring for as we empower children to develop their God-given gifts. Our goal at Tempe Christian Preschool is to build, within each child, a strong foundation in God's word and create a desire within their heart to joyfully serve the Lord.

We believe in a “whole child” approach to learning that focuses on meeting a child’s individual needs as well as supporting their development spiritually, socially, emotionally, physically, and intellectually.

We offer an academic and developmental curriculum that presents both structured and non-structured activities, affording the children a wide variety of hands-on learning opportunities throughout the day.

our curriculum

Tempe Christian Preschool is committed to upholding the highest standards of a strong educational program, designed to meet the individual needs of each child. We adhere to and focus on the Arizona Early Learning Standards from Infants through preschool. We introduce learning objectives through play. Annual Curriculum Calendars will be distributed during our Open House and Parent-Teacher Conferences. These can also be requested at any time. Daily Activities and Lessons are shared with parents each day through our parent portal. We are privileged to incorporate biblical principles into our curriculum, which is designed to guide children into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

God is the central force and focus of our early learning center. All aspects of our program include Him. Teachers and staff pray for guidance on how to glorify Him in their teaching, conversations, and everyday lives. God’s Word, as presented in the Bible, is an integral part of everyday teaching at TCP, setting biblical purpose statements, objectives, and foundations for all learning.

SECULAR VS. CHRISTIAN

Families are to keep in mind that Tempe Christian Preschool is a Christian early learning center.  We are a ministry under Tempe Nazarene Church. What is appropriate in the secular world may not be suitable for our program. Throughout the year, you will notice that we do not permit certain items in our center. For instance, all movies shown here in our center must be approved by the Director and display good, clean moral teachings. We celebrate Harvest and Thankfulness instead of Halloween. At Christmas, we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, not Santa Claus. At Easter, we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus, and not the Easter Bunny. We teach the truth according to the Scriptures and welcome any questions you may have throughout the year.
